Rent in El Salvador runs roughly $400 to $700 a month for a one-bedroom in a safe, central area of San Salvador, with the moderate-tier housing benchmark sitting at $466 a month country-wide. Newer buildings or developments in expat-favoured neighbourhoods like Escalรณn, Colonia San Benito, and Santa Tecla typically range $600 to $1,100. Outside the capital in places like Santa Ana or San Miguel, equivalent rentals are roughly 30 to 50 percent cheaper. Utilities, internet, and basic services typically add $80 to $150 a month on top.
