Founding Team

The researchers and analysts behind CostLiving's cost of living data.

RA Raz Amar

Raz Amar

Founder

Raz is a serial entrepreneur with a background in data systems and product development. He built CostLiving after identifying a consistent gap in the market: people making high-stakes relocation decisions based on cost data that was either paywalled, outdated, or impossible to compare across locations. He designed the underlying data architecture, the four-tier cost methodology, and the scoring model that powers every location page. He still reviews the methodology and output regularly.

Behind the data

Raz, Jodi, and Jo are supported by a small team of analysts and developers who handle data validation, content production, and ongoing site maintenance. CostLiving covers locations across every continent. Keeping that data accurate and current takes more than three people.

Our editorial standards

Every figure on CostLiving goes through a review process before it is published. Cost estimates are cross-referenced against primary sources including the World Bank, OECD, and national statistics offices. Where data is thin or unreliable, we say so.

The dataset is refreshed on a rolling basis. If you spot a figure that looks wrong, use the contact form. The team reads every message.
